Pity the poor 290E. It's a big slug of a driver, full of Alnico even, but gets no respect.
A pair just went on the bay for $260.

Wow, that's a heck of a deal. I don't recall seeing that auction. It's possible I just assumed they would go high, and moved on.

Yeah, that is the lowest I've seen 290s go for. But they never fetch high $$.
290's are great, but they have the early small Alnico mags.
They normally are 350 ish
The older 288 isn't a lot more...bear in mind you have to add a tweet to the 290, so they work out about the same.
The G has double the alnico, the H has that and a Tangerine...
